Privacy Policy

Chrome Imperial ("Chrome Imperial", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website chromeimperial.com and sells clothing and related products worldwide. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how and why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We are the "data controller" responsible for your personal data.

We handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where we serve customers in the European Economic Area (EEA), we also handle their personal data in line with the EU GDPR. If you have any questions, contact us at chromeimperial@chromeimperial.com.

1. Who we are

Chrome Imperial is the controller of the personal data collected through the Site.

For any privacy matter — including questions about this policy or a request to exercise your rights — contact us at chromeimperial@chromeimperial.com.

2. The information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data.

Information you give us:

  • Identity and contact details — your name, email address, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses.

  • Order and transaction details — the products you buy, order value, order history, and delivery information.

  • Payment information — payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not collect or store your full card number; Stripe handles your card details directly and securely.

  • Account information — if you create an account, your login details and saved preferences.

  • Communications — the content of messages you send us by email, contact form, or social media, and our replies.

  • Marketing preferences — whether you have opted in to receive email or SMS marketing.

Information we collect automatically when you use the Site:

  • Technical and device data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and time zone.

  • Usage data — pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart, referring website, and how you navigate the Site.

  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 4.

  • Approximate location — derived from your IP address.

Information we receive from third parties:

  • Payment confirmation and fraud signals from our payment provider (Stripe).

  • Advertising and analytics data from advertising platforms (such as Meta) relating to how you interacted with our ads.

  • Delivery status updates from our shipping and fulfilment partners.

3. How we use your information and our legal bases

Under data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. We rely on the following:

  • To process and fulfil your orders — take payment, deliver your items, handle returns and exchanges, and provide order updates. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.

  • To create and manage your account.Legal basis: performance of a contract.

  • To provide customer service and respond to your enquiries. Legal basis: performance of a contract; our legitimate interests in supporting our customers.

  • To send you marketing by email and SMS about products, drops, and restocks. Legal basis: your consent, or our legitimate interests where you are an existing customer and the law permits (you can opt out at any time).

  • To show and measure advertising, including retargeting and measuring ad performance through tools such as the Meta Pixel. Legal basis: your consent.

  • To analyse and improve the Site, our products, and your shopping experience. Legal basis: your consent for non-essential cookies; our legitimate interests in running and improving our business.

  • To prevent fraud and keep the Site secure.Legal basis: our legitimate interests in protecting our business and customers; compliance with a legal obligation.

  • To comply with the law, including tax, accounting, and consumer-protection obligations. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether those interests are overridden by your rights, and we balance them accordingly. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

4. Cookies and tracking technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and tags) to make the Site work, to understand how it is used, and to deliver and measure advertising. Cookies fall into these categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the Site and checkout to function, including cookies set by our website platform (Squarespace). These cannot be switched off.

  • Functional — remember your preferences and improve your experience.

  • Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.

  • Marketing and advertising — used to show you relevant ads and measure their performance. This includes the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API, which share certain activity (such as page views, add-to-cart, and purchase events) with Meta.

Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your choices at any time through our cookie banner. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some cookies may affect how the Site works.

This section should be read together with any cookie notice or consent banner shown on the Site.

5. Marketing communications

If you opt in — for example through the signup form or popup on our Site — we may send you marketing emails and, where you have provided your number and consented, SMS messages about new drops, restocks, and products. We use an email and SMS marketing provider (Klaviyo) to deliver these.

You can opt out at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any marketing email, replying STOP to a marketing SMS, or emailing us at chromeimperial@chromeimperial.com. Opting out of marketing will not stop service messages relating to your orders (such as order confirmations and delivery updates).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

6. International data transfers

We serve customers worldwide and use service providers based in different countries. This means your personal data may be processed in, or transferred to, countries outside your own — including outside the United Kingdom and the EEA — where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

When we transfer personal data out of the UK or the EEA, we make sure it is protected by an appropriate safeguard recognised under data protection law, such as:

  • a transfer to a country that the UK or EU has decided provides an adequate level of protection; or

  • standard contractual clauses approved by the relevant authority (the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

You can contact us for more information about the safeguards we use.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy:

  • Order and transaction records are kept for as long as required to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations (generally up to 6–7 years).

  • Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

  • Account data is kept while your account is active.

  • Other data is kept only as long as necessary, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR these include the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;

  • rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;

  • erase your data ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances;

  • restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances;

  • data portability — receive your data in a portable format;

  • object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;

  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent; and

  • not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that has a significant effect on you.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at chromeimperial@chromeimperial.com. This is free, and we will respond within the 2-3 working days.

9. Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Payments are handled by our PCI-compliant payment provider, and access to personal data is limited to those who need it.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your data we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

10. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at chromeimperial@chromeimperial.com, and we will delete it.
